The Ministry of Communications and Transport announces the opening of applications for the Qatar Digital Business Awards 2021

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) announced the opening of nominations for the 2021 Qatar Digital Business Awards. Held under the patronage of the Minister of Transport and Communications H E Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, the awards are open to all companies operating in the digital industry in Qatar. Now in its sixth edition, Qatar Digital Business Awards is one of most prestigious accolades for the digital industry in Qatar. They demonstrate MoTC's readiness to honor and recognize corporate entities, SMEs, and startups that have contributed to the development of the digital industry in Qatar during 2019 – 2021. Due to the significant impact of the COVID-19 crises, last year's awards were postponed. This year, Qatar Digital Business Awards are back with a restructured format adapted in line with the Government's health and safety framework. The 2021 Qatar Digital Business Awards have 11 categories open for entry: 1. ICT Service Provider of the Year. 2. Systems Integrator of the Year. 3. Mobile App of the Year. 4. Cloud Solution of the Year. 5. Digital Startup of the Year. 6. Smart Solution of the Year. 7. SME Digital Transformation of the Year. 8. E-Commerce Solution of the Year. 9. Innovative Fintech Solution of the Year. 10. ICT Exporter of the Year. And the newly added category: 11. Most Valuable Innovation Response to COVID-19. Nomination submissions must be completed at www.qitba.qa by 12 June 2021. Winners will be announced on 1 July 2021. Commenting on the launch of the awards, Reem Al Mansoori, MoTC's Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Society Development Sector said, “The global pandemic created a contactless world, bringing the need for digital transformation into sharp focus. Many of the technologies we as a society have adopted during the past year are here to stay. We now enjoy greater access to digital tools and technology that bridge the gap created by social distancing, and these important developments have enabled businesses and society to remain resilient. This year’s awards recognize and celebrate companies that have brought new technology to life as a response to COVID-19 or adapted their current services to help fight the pandemic or limit any health, social and economic damage to Qatar.” A distinguished panel of judges comprising of leading experts in the industry will judge the nominations and decide on the winners of the 2021 Qatar Digital Business Awards.
